The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival of China. People will join together to celebrate this festival. It means union. In the daytime we went to market to buy some vegetable. fruit and meat. We also bought many moon cakes. Because in the evening the whole family will have supper together. When we came back home, we will prepare for the supper all together.
In the evening most Chinese family member and relatives came back and have a rich supper together. We will talk and drink wine with each other. After the supper, we enjoy the full moon and eat moon cakes. The moon should be very big and round every Mid-autumn festival.
Children will walk around the street with holding beautiful lantern in decoration with their favorite cartoon characters. Inside the lantern can be a lighted candle, or safety lamp beads.
The mid-autumn festival has all interesting history.
Long time ago in one of the dynasties of China there was a king who was very cruel to the people and did not manage the country well. The people were so angry that some brave ones suggested killing the king. So they wrote notes telling about the meeting place and time and put them into cakes. On the 15th day of the 8th month every person was told to buy the cakes. When they ate them they discovered the notes. So they gathered together to make a sudden attack on the king.
From then on the Chinese people celebrate on the 15th day of the August lunar month and eat “moon cakes” in memory of that important event.
In OSB heat pump factory, we will celebrate this festival by barbecue and eat fruit, eat moon cakes, having good meal all together.
